The Your Discovery Place: PERSIST - WREM's Future Vision

The state of the art Your Discovery Place will be home to PERSIST: A Program of Empowering Resources for Sustaining Independence through Specialized Training. The PERSIST program is accomplished through WREM’s Your Discovery Place. The Your Discovery Place, albeit conceptual, is a strategic training facility developed by WREM to address issues that fuel poverty. The facility provides service for individuals and families between the ages of 3 and 24. It is comprised of an early learning laboratory, a YouthBuild training facility, an adult literacy laboratory, a center for interests in entrepreneurship, and an after school care program. 

In partnership with the Workforce Commission, the Prairie View A & M University, local business, and local governments, the Your Discovery Place gives families an opportunity to grow and learn together, while acquiring the ability to earn a sustainable living. The Your Discovery Place headquarters is scheduled for opening in January 2016. A capital campaign is underway to raise the funding for its development. It will be launched in Prairie View, TX.
